Any more road trips?
kansaswolf on September 05 2008 13:59:34
Jennifer

I think the answer is yes...

Well, I should've posted earlier, but sometimes things just don't turn out like they're supposed to...  Hm.  I've been...cleaning a lot.  Whee.

However, I had a really awesome labor day weekend!  Friday I went to see Matt and his kids, and all the cousins got to play together, which was fun!  Of course, NO ONE got ANY cameras out.  Sad.  Surely we'll see them again soon, though.

Saturday, mom took my older two to the Crawford family reunion while I went to my bluegrass concert.  The girls sure sounded like they had fun, even though Raylee fell asleep in the car on the way to the lake, so she missed the swimming part...  As Sharon said, "What was THIS costume change for?"  My bluegrass thing went well, my band played twice, and we actually DID get paid what we were supposed to...  Woo.  There was also an "Ice cream freeze-off" that afternoon inbetween the shows, which was AWESOME...  You pay $3, try all nine kinds of homemade ice cream that people made, then vote on which one you like best.  Then you can eat all the cake and storebought ice cream you want!  Mmmm...  The M&M cookie dough ice cream was the BEST...  I'm gonna have to try that someday.  You know, when I get an ice cream maker...

Mom, Emily, Levi and Flint made it to my second show, which was cool!  We didn't do Walkin' after Midnight in the second set, which would have been appropriate, but it was great to have everyone there!  Thanks, mom and everyone, for walking around with Cadence!  She was seriously unhappy, especially when there was no music playing...  But after getting her some good pacifiers, she seems better!

Sunday, I went to church with mom and everyone.  Emily and I did a couple special music songs, which wasn't too bad.  Well, except for the fact we should have changed the key of one song so Emily wouldn't be singing so HIGH...  But she hit the notes, and all was well...  Heh...

Also on Sunday, we got to go over to Grandma B's for her birthday!  Woo!  Got to see a good portion of the family, kids got to play on a fun swingset with the cousins, yummy cake and ice cream...  Oh, and singing!  Good times.  My fingers hurt a little this weekend from playing guitar.  Two performances and two practices on Saturday, church music and singing at Grandma's thing, random playing on Monday...

Monday, Dad was home!  I think he and the grandkids enjoyed each other...  Hee hee hee...  Sadie, Doug, Raylee and AZ got to play in the sprinkler, which was a mess, but fun!  After getting them all inside, dried off, dressed, etc, we sat down to rest for a second.  Mom says, "Where's Raylee?"  Nope, not watching TV with the other kids...  Emily goes upstairs, and we hear, "RAYLEE! *giggle* NO NO NO!  *pause*  Um, you guys might wanna come see this..."  Up we go, to find Raylee in the BATHTUB with the water running and the drain plugged.  The tub was full nearly to the top with perfectly warm water, and Raylee sitting in there fully clothed...  Oh my...  We thought Hannah was taking a shower or something, but NOOOOO...  Luckily, she was fine, just really wet (AGAIN...) and with the biggest diaper I've ever seen.  At least it was clean water.  *sigh*

So we came home that night, and Ben and the girls were happy to see each other...

JenniferIt's kinda slow in the blogging department here... But I'm not always so prolific, either... :D

I finally got some new pictures... Though I never seem to remember the camera when grandparents are here...  Hm.  Anyway, on to some pictures!

AZ and Raylee got home about midnight last Saturday night...  Or Sunday morning, if you wanna be specific.  They were understandably a bit tired, but excited to see mom, dad and little sis!  Hugs all around...

Cadence Harmony!

Jennifer

It's on the birth certificate application, so I guess we'll go with that!    I really like her name...

She was born on August 6th at 6:32 in the morning!  8 lbs 1 oz, 20 1/2" long...  Cute cute cute, as she should be!  I'm actually holding her now while I try to post!  Typing goes a little slower as a result, but OH well!  I love my new little girl...  And big sisters and daddy think she's pretty cool too!

My mom dropped by for a little while today, after going to visit dad at his new JOB in Cedar Rapids!  I was kinda hoping dad would be able to come see baby too, but you can't really take time off from a job you JUST started!  Heh...  Maybe he'll be able to get on here and see some pictures anyway...

So, the pictures you've all been waiting to see!

It's raining...
kansaswolf on July 28 2008 01:29:01
Jennifer

And my roof is leaking.  In at least three different places in my kitchen.  Dang.  It's rained a LOT since we moved in here, why is it only deciding to leak NOW?!?!?  So I've got some pans and a rubbermaid tub and some towels laid out on the floor in there.  It's coming through the FAN, which was interesting at first.  So now I'm afraid to turn the light on to check if there's more rain coming in.  Dang.

Dang.

On the bright side, it's not our house.  We don't have to pay to repair it.  The grinding, creaking noises from the basement?  We're ignoring them at the moment.  Hopefully our floor doesn't cave in.  I kind of wonder how much the basement is flooded now, but I don't want to go check.  That would involve going outside and into the basement door from there.  Not checking, not checking...  I'll make the landlord do that.

One week.  At least that's what they tell me.  Some old guy at church had the audacity to tell me to hurry up and HAVE the baby already.  Gee, like I haven't thought of that.  But I *try* to be civil through that and every single female at church asking me the same two questions: "How ARE you feeling today?" and some version of "I bet you're really anxious to have this baby, aren't you?"  Of course they can't ask in GROUPS, they have to ALL ask INDIVIDUALLY.  How many ways do I have to say, "I feel like crap, thanks.  And I'd have this baby today if I could, but APPARENTLY it's not time yet."

*sigh*  I think I'll be less cranky soon.  You know, when I don't feel like crap.

Okay, funny story...

I was driving home from shopping the other day, and this old lady turns down my street ahead of me, going like 5 mph.  So I'm braking in the middle of the street, and she heads over to the curb to park.  As I pull around her to get to my driveway, I see her hit and ramp the curb a little bit.  I'm thinking, well, sometimes people do that, then straighten out, so whatever.  She seemed to be taking the ramping the curb a little far though.  As I went to park in my driveway, I look back to see her parking job, and there she is, her and her passenger, getting out of the car:

Okay okay, it's time...

Jennifer

Gotta put up another post...

A few things are happening, I guess!  We're getting a new mini-van!  We got a pretty good deal on it too...  I've been scouring eBay and stuff...  Woot.  So now we're looking to sell one of the Neons.  I may have a buyer lined up...    We'll see how this all works out!  I'm SO excited, and the girlies LOVE the new van, so I think we're good!  Ben likes it too.  Now I'll have a place to put the new carseat I just bought!

I have three weeks to go until my due date, which is quite exciting!  Though we're kinda hoping baby comes early.  Well, baby can wait until I at least get suitcases packed...  Still not done with that.  Better get on that sometime soon...

Here's a couple pictures I took of myself.  I took some side pictures too, but they didn't show up well.  I'll have to redo those.  But at least you get an idea of how NOT pregnant I look:

It's my party...
kansaswolf on July 02 2008 02:13:14
Jennifer

Actually, AZ said we couldn't have a party without balloons...  Maybe I'll find the leftover ones from HER birthday...  She and Raylee seem to like them!

I actually had a pretty good birthday, all in all!  No cake, I didn't feel like baking in the HOT humid weather...  I just really really wanted an A&W root beer float...  So after I went to the doctor, I took the girls grocery shopping and got some root beer and ice cream...   SO yummy...  I'm eating another float now!

Well, with Ben hogging the computer since he got back from his two weeks of camp, and Ike coming over for a little of the weekend, I haven't even been online to check anything, much less update!  Oof.  But here's some recent pictures for your viewing enjoyment!

I'm pretty happy with this one...

Jennifer

I entered a cake competition online...  At the moment I'm losing in the vote count, but oh well.  No one ELSE can sculpt like me!  I just don't have all the details that some people do.  Oh well, that's what I get for only having TWO days to do an entire cake, along with everything ELSE I do...  They told us we had until the 28th, then changed their mind and I had to get it done by 3:00 last Saturday...  Not bad for a rush job, I thought!  Anyway, here's my competition piece:
